This is an original artwork by A Forest of Shadows. Depicting Medusa from Greek mythology. Μέδουσα (Medusa) also called Gorgo, was one of the three monstrous Gorgons, generally described as winged human females with living venomous snakes in place of hair. Those who gazed into her eyes would turn to stone. Medusa was beheaded by Perseus, who thereafter used her head, which retained its ability to turn onlookers to stone, as a weapon until he gave it to the goddess Athena to place on her shield. In classical antiquity the image of the head of Medusa appeared in the evil-averting device known as the Gorgoneion. This is a mixed media piece using acrylic and metallic paints, and fine liner pens. Drawn on Daler Rowney 250gsm paper. It is A3 size. *Please note that the picture frame is for photographic purposes only and NOT included! I also have a sample A3 print of this art for sale.
